Animals roam freely, watching peacefully as your vehicle passes by them, allowing you the opportunity to gaze at leisure. The animals are accustomed to the presence of vehicles and, therefore, do not run away or hide from them. Such close-up experiences make for fabulous photographs by which to remember your time in Port Elizabeth. A 2-hour guided tour is also available, transporting guests in an open Land Rover and accompanied by an informative, qualified guide. There are a number of accommodation facilities available for guests wanting to stay in the reserve overnight. Wake up to the calls of monkeys and the curious musings of friendly ostriches. Relax in gorgeous surrounds before exploring the reserve more, perhaps even playing with the tame cheetah. All overnight facilities are self-catering and comprise 1) chalets, 2) thatched lodges, 3) log cabins and 4) luxury safari tents.
There are beautiful picnic spots and barbecue areas available, shaded by the tall Eastern Cape trees. This is ideal for day visitors or overnight guests wanting to sample the fresh air and wildlife of South Africa. There is also a restaurant on site, boasting a range of delicious treats and tasty meals; all enjoyed inside or on the deck overlooking the enclosures of some of the animals.
The Forest Walk offers guests the opportunity to walk the treetop boardwalk, which extends for 400 metres; winding through the dense forest home of many species, including more than 200 identified bird species.
